Lawn Bowls with Quest (New Farm) - 11th September

Wow, what for matches.....

First Rounds

HIGH-flying Team Friendship (and last Semester’s winner) was forced to fight for a 71-65 win in Sunday’s QUEST bowls match against the Questies.

The match was a further indication of the closeness of a competition which offers few easy games.

In a match that fluctuated all day it was again the rink of Dahra that did enough to secure 12 points.

His rink’s 24-9 defeat of the four of Jacks not only gained two points but continued a 12-game undefeated run.

QUEST Society president Christine said it was a hard-fought game.

” We were down by a few shots early and had to fight all the way before getting up in a close finish,” Dahra said.

With the rink wins split two apiece, Jonas grabbed an additional two points courtesy of a 20-17 win over Jack.

Kevin failed to kick on in the second half of its QUEST bowls clash with Steven, losing 97-54.

“Once again we struggled across the green,” Kevin said.
“It’s hard to put your finger on where our problem is.

“This day’s loss was disappointing, particularly when you consider that we were playing at home.”

The best performed rink on the day was that of Jenny (or Rachel), which grabbed two points from a 22-15 defeat of Rachel (or Jenny).

Final Round

Now it was Team Friendship (represented by Dahra) against Team Questies (Kevin, Jonas, Jack, Steve and Lex). This was a very hard match for Team Friendship but it won against  Team Questies 97-95.

Team Friendship coach Christine was not very pleased with the 2-shot win but:
“We have to be happy with that,” she said.

Team Friendship is now firmly this semesters champion and is officially the QUEST LAWN BOWLS Champion of 2011.

Big loss for Team Friendship though….

Team Friendship clearly lost against Steven in the Dress up championship and we congratulate Steven and heaps of fun with your Sky Diving price!!!!!
